5K Aspen Race for the Cure®

1-mile Family Fun Walk

Aspen PAWS for the Cure™

Administration:
Assist the staff of Komen Aspen Race for the Cure® with database entry, phone calls, letters and general administrative support in the months before the Race®, during Race® week, and for a few weeks after the Race®. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Breakfast Crew:
Arrange table set up, food and drink to be prepared and served to participants and volunteers for Race Day breakfast. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Cheer Banners:
Work with staff in the months before the Race® to solicit cheer banners from area businesses and individuals. Oversee the hanging of banners for Race day. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Clean-Up Crew:
General park clean up during and after the Race® including trash pick up, boxing up leftover items and supplies. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Dog Walk for the Cure:
Assist with day-of registration, distribute Doggy Goodie Bags and direct participants along the route. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Education Tent:
Assist in the distribution of educational materials day of the Race®. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Finish Line:
Provide support and enthusiasm to the runners as they cross the finish line, assist timing company with runner’s finish time. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Goodie Tent:
Set up tent and assist companies with handing out goodie bag items to participants. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Race Chairs: volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Registration:
Assist with all aspects of registration including walk-in registration in Aspen, El Jebel or Glenwood Springs during Race® week and on Race Day, on-line registration, and promoting registration in other communities. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Route:
Direct runners/walkers along the route for the 5K, 1 mile walk and Dog Walk, alerting them of traffic, corners and general direction of the route. Also cheering on participants as they pass. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Set-Up Crew—Friday–Saturday, July 16-17, 2010:
General set up of staging area and finish line on the day before the Race® helping to put up all banners, set up tables and chairs, etc. Also needed the morning of the Race® for last minute set up items. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Survivor Recognition:
Work with Race® staff in planning a Survivor Recognition event, as well as overseeing Survivor activities on Race® Day. volunteers@komenaspen.org >


Volunteer Committee:
Work during the months before the Race® to assist with recruiting and assigning over 200 Race for the Cure® volunteers. volunteers@komenaspen.org >
